Past Years' Projects

The Kittitas Stewardship Fund awards minigrants every fall, for projects ready to be implemented in the following year. Here, you can learn more about recipients since our kickoff in 2023:

2024: $27,000 Awarded

Kittitas Winter Trails Collaborative
Central Cascades Recreation Association
$2,000

The Central Cascades Recreation Association aims to provide access to winter recreation in the Central Cascades. CCRA volunteers conduct ongoing year-round maintenance to established Washington State SnoParks and adjacent trail systems throughout Kittitas County. By removing downed trees, litter, and trash, they reduce fire risk and improve wildlife habitat along with keeping trails open and intact.

2023: $21,800 Awarded

Blewett Pass Trails Maintenance
Central Cascades Recreation Association
$2,000

The Central Cascades Recreation Association seeks access to winter recreation in the Central Cascades, with a current focus on trails along the Naneum Crest impacted by the 2012 Wenatchee Mountain Fires. Many of those trails are closed every year by fallen burned trees, so the funds will be used to purchase tools and protective equipment for CCRA's certified sawyer volunteers.
